An untapped resource in manufacturing: Women

For those companies located in Chicago, Crain’s Chicago Business is a local publication that started with a weekly newspaper geared towards the business community and has expanded greatly into digital and other media.

Recently they put a feature piece forward about a center in Chicago that offers job training for women on CNC machinery and other high tech skills to fill factory jobs that are starting to return to the US given the trend of “onshoring” or “reshoring” (the return of production of goods to North America due to the combined increase in transportation and labor costs overseas reaching a near equilibrium point).
